Why Just Women?

It all started in 2001 when I was in college in Boulder, Colorado. I was having a difficult time in my life and was trying to figure out what I should do to improve it. I knew a woman named Viva who was happy and vibrant so I asked her what she did to be that way. She said, “I do yoga with Sofia.”

The next week found me in a yoga class with Sofia Diaz. Sofia is a brilliant and masterful yoga teacher who teaches women and men seperately. I learned so much from Sofia including the difference between feminine and masculine energy.

Feminine energy is powerful and expanding. It moves in all directions and creates beauty and joy. Masculine energy is powerful and direct. It moves from point A to point B accomplishing goals. All people, both men and women, have feminine and masculine energy and cultivating both is a way to both surviving and enjoying life.

As Americans we live in a society that highly values masculine energy and is not always supportive of feminine energy. For this reason I have created Blossom Massage for Women as a container for feminine energy to build, grow, be honored and respected.

I also find that simply from the physical level of being female working with women is more beneficial to both my client and me. I am better able to align myself with the health issues of women and can be more effective in their treatment.

I have also found that as a massage therapist it is helpful to define a niche and specialize in it. For all these reasons Blossom Massage is just for women.

Men are great, necessary, and wonderful and we love them. When we commune as women and nourish our feminine essence it flows back as love to the men in our lives.

May the Goddess in you be loved and nourished,
Jennie
