Jennie Stancu, BA, LMT

Jennie Stancu graduated from New Hampshire Institute of Therapeutic Arts in 2004 with a Certificate in Massage Therapy. Since then she has been in private practice and worked at Jacobs Chiropractic Acupuncture in Portland, Maine. Jennie is nationally certified and pursues continuing education. She is a member of the Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals. In March 2011 Jennie graduated from a 200-hr Yoga Teacher Training from ShivaShakti Yoga School in Rockland, Maine.

Jennie decided to cater to women because she finds that women’s bodies and spirits are more natural for her to work with, and respond better in an environment reserved exclusively for them.
Jennie has experience with all body types from couch potatoes to elite athletes. She has worked with many women during their pregnancies (including a woman carrying triplets!) and has found that regular massage therapy improves people’s lives.
In addition to her massage therapy certification Jennie holds a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Colorado. Jennie has a regular meditation and yoga practice and enjoys walking, dancing, cooking, reading and writing.

Ali Leighton, LMT

Ali Leighton is a graduate of Spa Tech Institute’s Holistic Massage Therapy program. She is experienced in Reflexology, Myofascial Therapy, Neuromuscular Technique, Positional Release, Trigger Point Therapy, Swedish Massage, and Polarity Therapy. Ali’s goal as a body worker is to clear the path for each person to adjust into her own healing journey. She understands the power of human connection and uses that knowledge within her therapeutic practice. Ali loves to work with people who are energetically ready for long-term positive change.

In addition to her massage work, Ali is a member of WWOOF (World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms). Prior to her massage therapy studies, Ali spent three months in Italy as a WWOOF worker. She has also worked with the SCA (Student Conservation Association) in Idaho to restore the observation deck around the Giant Western Red Cedar tree in the Clearwater National Forest, and worked with Habitat for Humanity in West Virginia building foundations for new homes and participating in community clean up. She has also enjoyed Outward Bound hiking trips and Ripple Effect kayaking excursions.
Along with bodywork, Ali thoroughly enjoys her own forms of therapy; singing, dancing, biking, swimming, writing, meditating, and many hours of laughter.

Our Mission:

To create a sanctuary for health and healing where women are able to relax and be nurtured through the application of therapeutic massage; healing their bodies, relaxing their minds, and bolstering their spirits. To be a resource for women’s health in the community. To nurture the nurturer. To connect as many women as possible into the healing stream.
